Every journey has a turning point — a quiet moment when the heart recognizes its own truth. For me, that journey began with the law. Armed with a degree in Law and a Post Graduation Diploma in Business Administration with a focus on Finance, I stepped into the professional world with a clear sense of direction. I apprenticed in litigation, learning the art of argument, discipline, and precision from the ground up. Later, I transitioned into the corporate arena as a legal assistant, where I handled contracts, compliance, and the dynamic landscape of business operations. These early chapters in my professional life shaped my understanding of responsibility, resilience, and the power of structure.
Life, however, had its own beautiful script waiting for me. Marriage to an Army officer brought with it a series of relocations, new cultures, and a deeper understanding of duty. The rhythm of fauji life — demanding, unpredictable, and yet profoundly grounding — nudged me toward a different calling. With each posting came new opportunities and new challenges, ultimately guiding me toward the world of education. I pursued a B.Ed degree and later joined the Army Public School as a faculty member, where I spent some of my most rewarding years. Teaching young minds taught me patience, empathy, and the quiet art of helping others find their voice.
Eventually, I chose to step into the role of a homemaker, not as a withdrawal but as an evolution. The decision allowed me to embrace the shifting landscapes of Army life fully, but it also gave me the space to listen inward — to the thoughts, emotions, and stories that had long waited for expression. In that stillness, words found me. Writing, which had once offered solace, slowly became a calling. Poetry became my language of healing, reflection, and truth.
This journey culminated in my debut poetry collection, Things I Never Said It Loud, a book born from unspoken emotions and tender reckonings. To my gratitude and honour, the collection received the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award, a recognition that affirmed the quiet power of vulnerability and expression. My second poetry book is soon to be released, carrying forward my commitment to capturing the emotional landscapes we often hesitate to acknowledge.
Alongside my literary journey, I have also been pursuing studies in human psychology — a field that fascinates me both intellectually and emotionally. Understanding the complexities of the human heart deepens my writing and helps me explore the intricate dance between pain, hope, memory, and renewal.
My work is stitched together from lived experiences: the transitions between professions, the challenges of identity, the strength required to begin again, and the profound discovery that healing often starts with a single honest word. I write to root myself and to lift others. I write to give voice to what so many feel yet may never say aloud. Most of all, I write in the hope that my journey can inspire a global, human connection — one shaped by courage, compassion, and the unwavering belief that we all rise, again and again.
