Dr. G. Amrit, MBBS, MS (Orthopaedics), is a distinguished orthopaedic and spine surgeon with advanced expertise in minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery. Renowned for his precision-driven approach and patient-centric philosophy, he stands among India’s leading specialists in modern spine care.
A graduate of the prestigious BJ Medical College, Pune, Dr. Amrit completed his Master’s in Orthopaedics from Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute. Following his post-graduation, he served as a Senior Resident in the Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, for three years — an experience that further honed his clinical acumen and surgical skills.
His pursuit of excellence took him to several premier national and international institutions for specialized training. He completed the AO Spine Asia Pacific Long-Term Fellowship at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi, followed by advanced fellowships in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai; Endoscopic and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Daejeon Woori Hospital, South Korea; and the MISSAB Fellowship in Endoscopic Spine Surgery at the Asian Spine Hospital, Hyderabad.
Dr. Amrit’s expertise spans the entire spectrum of spinal disorders — including trauma, infection, deformity correction, degenerative conditions, and tumor surgery. He is proficient in state-of-the-art navigation-assisted and robotic spine surgery techniques, offering patients safer procedures, minimal tissue disruption, and faster recovery times.
An accomplished academician, Dr. Amrit has served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, where he was also In-Charge of the Regional Spinal Injuries Centre. Currently, he serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at IMS & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar. Actively involved in research and teaching, he has authored numerous indexed publications in reputed national and international journals and has presented at various conferences across India and abroad.
Beyond clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Amrit has organized multiple cadaveric and spine workshops, along with national-level CME programs, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and skill development in the field of spine surgery.
