From Silence to Strength: The Journey of a Young Voice from Bihar
Born and raised in the quiet town of Dehri-On-Sone, Bihar, she was once expected to be a science prodigy, dedicating her teenage years to math and physics in hopes of validation and pride from her family. But behind the equations lay a different calling — a childhood dream of becoming a journalist. Suppressed for years due to societal expectations, she finally voiced her truth during graduation, opting to study English Literature with the intent to pivot into journalism later.
Graduating from Delhi University’s IPCW, she eventually joined SheThePeople, where her voice found a platform. However, behind her professional success lay years of unaddressed trauma and mental health struggles that began after her 12th grade. Childhood experiences of sexual harassment resurfaced, pushing her to confront pain she had long buried.
Turning her anguish into activism, she began writing fearlessly on gender inequality and women’s rights. Her first poetry collection, Bleeding Bangles, stands as a raw and powerful testament to her resilience — a voice once silenced, now roaring against injustice. Despite her battles, she continues to fight, proving that even from the depths of despair, a voice can rise to spark change.
